Claudine Barretto Is Now A Kapuso Star

I had a feeling it was going to happen. After Claudine Barretto signed up with Viva Films, I had this gnawing suspicion that if ABS-CBN doesn’t give Claudine a definite answer about a new show she’ll do something for her career. As well she should.
PEP just reported that Claudine signed up with GMA 7. I’m actually having goosebumps right now. Claudine Barretto and Marian Rivera in one network. That means a possibility of them working together. I love these actresses dearly. Before Marian Rivera came along, Claudine Barretto was the only actress I patiently watched on YouTube. I’ve loved her since Ang TV. Anak and Got To Believe in Magic are 2 of my all time Filipino movies.
Everybody knows that Claudine’s husband, Raymart Santiago is a Kapuso star. So it’s like an inevitable transition for Claudine to be a Kapuso as well especially since Kapamilya has pretty much forgotten about her. Claudine said something about Marian Rivera on the GMA News.
Asked kung excited na ba siyang makatrabaho ang mga Kapuso stars, Claudine says she’s looking forward to working with many of them. "Siyempre pinapanood ko ang shows ng asawa ko, and fan na fan ako ng maraming shows dito—lalo na ‘yung Darna, of course. And ‘yung kay Dingdong [Dantes] at saka kay Rhian [Ramos]. So marami akong gustong makatrabaho."
"Si Marian [Rivera], nakausap ko sa phone." Claudine says she hasn’t met the actress yet in person though. "Hindi pa kasi ako nagkaroon ng chance na sumama or dumalaw sa taping ng Darna." But, kuwento niya, her husband Raymart shot a video of Marian giving Claudine’s daughter Sabina a message. "Kasi nanunuod nga si Sabina ng Darna, sobrang favorite niya."
Dagdag pa niya, she’s also looking forward to reuniting with some of her old friends like Jolina Magdangal, Marvin Agustin, Patrick Garcia and Paolo Contis. "Ang dami naming catching up to do!"
With this move I think Claudine’s fans, including us, will finally see her on TV. Things like this is the reason why we’re not into network wars. Claudine obviously cares about her career. She waited patiently for ABS-CBN to give her a show but they’ve neglected all the contribution she has given them throughout the years. Claudine also has a family to support. GMA 7 stepped up so she’d be stupid not to take it.

kung ako GMA, postpone ko na lang muna yoong Dong-Yan reunion. pagsamahin ko si Marian and Claudine sa isang soap. isama sa cast si Mark Anthony and Tj Trinidad.

Tumaba si Claudine siguro hirap sya mag decide kasi ginagawang SEASAW sila ng ABS CBN kaoag nalamang aalis kung ano ano ang alok.

porke nakita nila na visible na si Ryan sa EAT BULAGA
biglang itutuloy na nila yung NURSERYE ni JUDAY na isang taong napako.
AMININ na ng ABS they just collect this artist to their fences para wala silang kalaban not to give jobs but to lessen ang mga sakit ng ulo nila sa GMA. lalo kapag yung pinaglumaan nila panapakinis pa ng GMA
I don’t think GMA will be able to pen Clau a great original story..sorry sa mga Kapuso, but when it comes to story ABS wins in the department. I loved her last show in ABS.
I’m excited for DongYan’s reunion. I doubt GMA will partner Clau and Marian this early on. And to everyone, expect another war between GMA’s true actresses: Marian and Clau…ABS/GMA will make it happen, trust me.
Gusto ko ang balik tambalan ni Dongyan kasi namimiss na namin cla. Pero sana magplano din ang GMA para kay Marian & Claudine bilang sisters sa soap na magkaagaw parang ganoon. Dapat din c Marian ang bida kac cya ang original sa GMA eh alangan naman na sasapawan cya ni Claudine noh! C Marian pa rin ang bida. We’re looking forward to a new shows of Marian & Dingdong next year. Sana 2010 na para makapagtaping na cla.

welcome claudine! i really hope mag-improve na ang GMA with their original storylines. actually last time, i think in early 2000 when GMA started to produce dramas again, their stories were quite nice and unique (i really loved sana ay ikaw na nga, kung mawawala ka and te amo before). ewan ko ba bakit nawala na and they are now more into remakes and telefantasyas. sana, with claudine’s move eh i-improve naman nila. looking forward to it…
Good move by Claudine. A good actress like her doesn’t deserve to be sidelined for a long time and just be a frozen delight. She’s one personality I’ve long admired, endowed with good looks that comes with a good heart.
I can see the excitement of Marian fans over Claudine’s becoming a Kapuso and looking ahead at the possibility of seeing them together in a dream project.
If I were to do the casting, I would put Marian, Dingdong, Claudine, and Christopher de Leon together in a teleserye or a movie. It’s a very ideal casting to pit MR and DD’s thespic talents with two of the best actors in the industry and at the same time give them the experience to upgrade their acting skills to a higher level. Seeing them again in a mega project has been the dream of their fans. And having proven their bankability as Primetime Queen and Primetime King, they deserve nothing less.

Criselda, you’re welcome. When I love somebody, I love them wholeheartedly and will help in any way I can. This blog wouldn’t exist if I just wanted to be a “regular” fan. I can’t go to their shows, movie premieres, etc, so I’ll use what I’m good at which is writing, arguing in a witty way

I don’t like overly dramatic plots that’s why I watched Kapuso more. Light lang kasi and I love fantasy. So I want to Claudine in a Fantasy Film or teleserye. Why not? Goddess-like naman ang ganda niya!!…Sana sa Encantadia! Opps!
