When Kim Chiu went to Mindoro to do a show, she also got the chance to see her estranged father whom she hasn’t seen in 5 years. Kim posted that picture in Instagram with this caption;
finally, a photo with my papa after 5years… sooo happy for today, thank you Lord.. #bloodisthickerthanwater #timeheals #familyis❤
In an interview with Push, Kim happily shared how their meeting came about and what prompted her to finally bury the hatchet.
“May show ako sa Mindoro tapos dun siya based [ngayon]. Nakakaiyak.
The pretty chinita further shared that she decided to bury the hatchet since she’s has grown up now anyway. Tumatanda na kami, so siguro it’s about time na kalimutan na natin yun. Hindi naman kami nagiyakan. Nag-hug, chenes. ‘O ano, tanda na tayo, Pa,’” said Kim who was very happy about their unexpected reunion.
Kim added that her dad actually apologized for whatever failings he made in the past. Sorry.’ Eh, matanda na tatay ko. Kinalimutan ko na yung nangyari.” The 23-year-old also got the chance to meet her half-siblings. At this point, she no longer harbors any ill will with the fact that her dad has another family. (source)
After their reconciliation in Mindoro, Kim’s father has visited his daughter and the other members of the family in Manila where Kim’s grandmother hosted a dinner for everyone. AWWW!
