GMA 7′s Lawsuit Against Sarah Lahbati Includes 7 Million Pesos In Liquidated Damages

Following Annete Abrogar’s steps in dealing with Sarah Lahbati via the legal way by filing a case against her, GMA 7 filed their own case against the Starstruck 5 winner. Based from the Pep.ph article, here are the details of the lawsuit.

The civil case is for “Specific Performance with Damages” which was filed in Regional Trial Court of Quezon City, on January 11th 2013.

The complaint involves breach of contract because of Sarah Lahbati’s “failure and refusal to comply with her [Sarah] obligations and undertakings under the Management Contract she had signed up with GMA-7 and appearances in her program assignments despite notice and advice.”

“Continuous dishonor and flagrant violations of her obligations to perform her role as an artist in GMA-7’s TV programs is highly detrimental to the entertainment TV block of GMA-7; thus, requiring Lahbati to immediately discharge her contractual obligations with GMA-7.”

Liquidated damages of 7 Million Pesos have also been included in the suit due to “Lahbati’s refusal to perform her obligations under the Management Contract and other program contracts coupled with her formal notice to take a leave of absence for one (1) month from the network without prior agreement or approval of GMA-7.”
