First of all, I am not confirming nor denying the online rumor that Marian Rivera is supposed to do the remake of Temptation Of A Wife as her next teleserye. I have an idea of what she’ll be doing but of course, until there’s a press conference things could change any minute so we wait until it’s officially announced.
Now back to the rumor of the supposed remake. I understand that the Korean drama Temptation of a Wife was such a hit among Filipino viewers that weeks after GMA 7 aired it on their afternoon block the show was aired on Primetime. I know that poeple loved it coz maybe it has a mature and grown up subject matter that the viewers found it refreshing compare to the usual teleserye storylines.
The question that people in GMA 7 should be asking themselves is this, do viewers really love the show that much that they’re going to watch the remake too after seeing the Korean dram twice already?
An even bigger question is, should Marian Rivera do it? Should Marian Rivera do another remake on TV?
FYI, I have no problem with the mature-adult genre of the storyline. Compare to the TV shows here in the US, the “mature-adult” standard in the Philippines Entertainment is actually 5 levels immature, for lack of a better word, HEH. I am highly confident that Marian Rivera could do it and I believe that Marian should finally do something along that genre. She actually started doing that in Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang which started out so well until some fans started complaining coz they were not ready to see Marian play the character of feisty and sexy Proserfina. The latter is my second favorite among Marian’s TV characters. Marimar being the 1st.
Would I want Marian to do another remake on TV? NO! I would really like to believe that Marian is already a graduate of TV remakes. Even in the movies, along the lines of Super Inday, *knock on wood*. If her new show has the similar tone of Temptation of a Wife then that’s no problem at all. It’s fine and dandy, and it’s about freaking time, again.
However, if it turns out that Marian is indeed doing a remake of TOAW, well, I’ll support her with everything I’ve got. I know in my heart that Marian will grab the character by the throat and make it her own. There’s no question about it, she’ll give the character justice and THEN SOME. That’s how AMAZING she is as an actress. But still, if it’s really possible, I’d rather she’s not doing another remake for her next teleserye. Just to reiterate once more lest I be misquoted, I WILL SUPPORT MARIAN RIVERA IN EVERYTHING SHE DOES, REMAKE OR NOT.

Thanks for the nice topic, ms. dexie. me too, i think its high time that marian rivera should graduate from remakes, although she has different style and attack of the characters like marimar and dyesebel where she was awesome. if only i could email gma7 to plea for an original adult story, or an epic serye that is well prepared, with good script and a good actor as leading man, or the likes of mr and mrs smith of brad and angelina jolie, swak sa character ni marian. but whatever role or tv show will be given to her, i will really support her. love you yanyan, and happy 28th birthday. i hope all your wishes come true and may you always be happy in your career and lovelife.
Whether Marian is to do a remake or not it’s fine with me. As a fan I will support her no matter what kind of role she takes. However, I don’t like Temptation of a Wife for a remake; it is at its best as it is. Let’s not tamper with the story.
What I have always wanted for her, for Dindong and Dennis Trillo to do is a Flowers for Algernon interpretation.. I like the drama series Hello God and the Japanese equivalent. As for Philippine interpretation, I’ve always wanted the Korean version and had dreamed of Marian doing the female lead, Dindong as the doctor, and Dennis the savant. For Marian it will be another offbeat role which she can improve and make it better. So I suggest to GMA to do this drama with Filipino flavor.

Marian doing a remake of any tv is not a problem @ all because she’s so so good in such a way that her fans will never get tired of watching her show. Marian shows to me is not about d story line of any tv she does is how she interpret her roles in any show she’s in. For example in my house we’ve watched so many filipino actresses but we were not attached to anyone untill we watched Marimar last year now everyone is in love with Marian Rivera we even plan on visiting philipine just because of her and Dong. The bottom line is any show Marian does is so fresh and watchable cos very few actreses in this world posses her acting prowess. Secondly I think the person that will be her leading man is also very important cos if u ask me she and Dong can do soap like four a year we’ll never get tired of their aura of love. In summary of it all is not all about how many remake of tv’s marian does is how happy people are after watching her show and how many life she’s touched thro her shows

I did not watch TOAW when it was aired…now I will definitely watch the remake…
i prefer original story with leading man that would reciprocate her versatility..
marian is capable of portraying any roles.. she has wide range of skills acting wise..
enough of tv remakes even though she was able to portrayed the roles from the adaptation as her own original characters..
anyway, whatever project she is up to, i am still here to support her hundred percent..

A big no, Marian Rivera deserves a new good script. GMA should look for good scriptwriters and not copycat. Why th4e rush? With that protegee show, they should also include matured people, not only younger ones. GMA has the lousiest and poor marketing strategy, they should explore and be more creative in their shows, not only dramas, but also some actions like CSI or some mystery. They have a very limited directors and scriptwriters, and It’s not competitive.
I would support any show of Marian no matter what. Although, I wish GMA would do another original like AMAYA. One of my favorites! Congratulations to GMA for selling the “rights” to that show to a station in Malaysia. I’m confident that the Malaysian people would love the beauty of Philippine historical culture thru that show.
I read somewhere that its already confirmed that marian will indeed be doing the remake of TOW.
There’s no confirmation yet from Marian’s camp and bear in mind, the group leaders just had a meeting with Yan and Popoy. So, let’s wait and see

Although I’m looking forward to new series [complete new, like My Beloved] of Marian, I will support any dramas or movies of Marian, (even though I’m not a Filipino and I rarely understand what she said in films)…
