When Sam Pinto was declared as the winner of FHM PH’s sexiest woman in the Philippines for the second time in a row, she told her competitors that there’s always next year and not to worry coz she’s not going to fight hard next year.
“There’s always next year, guys. Don’t worry, hindi na ako masyadong lalaban next year!” 99.9% of the 122 comments that the article garnered were negative. One celebrity who is not afraid to admit she got offended by Sam Pinto’s comment is FHM PH’s July cover, Jackie Rice.
Inamin ni Jackie na medyo sumama ang loob niya nang naikuwento sa kanya ang sinabi ni Sam na puwede nang lumaban ang ibang sexy actress na mag-number one dahil hindi na raw niya ito kakaririn sa susunod na taon.
“Medyo na-hurt ako du’n. Nagulat lang ako nang sinabi sa akin ng ibang reporters nang mag-press visit sila sa Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka,” pakli ni Jackie.
“Sagot niya iyun, eh, no comment na lang ako. Kami naman, ginagawa naman namin ang best namin para lumaban.”
Aware siya na may ‘di magagandang intriga kay Sam nang muli itong nahirang na #1 Sexiest sa FHM. Pero ayaw na niyang magkomento pa.
Hindi siya galit kay Sam pero medyo na-offend siya sa sinabi ng seksing aktres.

In any case, congratulations on your hit afternoon drama, Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka?. It must feel really good to headline another afternoon teleserye after the success of Sisid.

The insufferable Sam Pinto does not deserve my time and effort and initially, I had no wish to waste such to write my thoughts on this newbie but after reading this article here, as a reader and a tv viewer, I would like my pulse to be felt so here goes. Firstly, kudos to Ms. Rice for being honest and not having qualms admitting that she felt offended by Pinto’s “tsunami” (hahaha right? DJ!) remarks. Although I find Ms. Rice’s comments hesitantly tame and even guarded – understandably so – since she probably wants to remain polite and avoid being in a sticky situation with a fellow kapuso artist and in deference to the same network they both belong to (a consideration Pinto didn’t obviously think much of before opening her mouth as 8 in the top 10 list are kapusos and why, the other two even ex-kapusos!), at least, one of the top 10 fhm names on the list came out on print to say what she felt about Pinto’s uncalled for/unnecessary remarks. Another one without restraint would have probably said a mouthful to Pinto if one were in Rice’s position (after all, Rice has already topbilled a kapuso show and continues to essay better roles and may I add, she certainly CAN act ) to put Pinto in her rightful place – a wannabe starlet waiting for the elusive break at stardom (while viewers are also still waiting for the thespic talent or even a hint of it to show up
). And as such, there are those of the sharply insightful opinion that she desperately needs the fhm title because that’s about ALL that’s going on for her for lack of a serious career direction and bereft of the required acting chops. Secondly, if one hasn’t attained yet even a fraction of what the more accomplished, immensely popular and established talents have achieved to date, e.g. Angel L and Marian R in particular (who both don’t even seem to care to make a big deal of being in fhm’s annual top 10 as they do NOT need fhm anyway to advance their showbiz status at this point and who both show enough humility as not to comment about their respective positions in the top 10 list and on the rest of the other girls on said top 10 list), then, good grief, I believe one has NO right to say such outrageous, self-serving and self-promoting comments indeed !
P.S. Oh, and may I hasten to add, in this early stage of her (non)career, Pinto has already broken (and how!) the one sacred all-pervading showbiz tenet personified by the recently departed much loved Dolphy, the key to his long and successful stellar career and which he constantly emphasized as his advice to the showbiz hopefuls in his past interviews : HUMILITY. One trait that seems to be the common denominator among highly accomplished and illustrious men. The great Benjamin Franklin quietly reminded his people about it when he once wrote :”A man wrapped up in himself makes a very small bundle.” Another equally great man, Abraham Lincoln was more succint and directly pointed when he admonished : “What kills a skunk is the publicity it gives itself.” Pity, in showbiz, some don’t learn to take such trait to heart early on…prompting too the early demise of their (non)careers
FHM won’t make you a Primetime Queen, a most sought after endorser, a lead star kaya hayaan na lang ang trying hard na pintuan ang mag bigay ng gifts in exchange to vote for her. Kakahiya nga itong si pinto kasi siya lang ung bumili ng mga boboto sa kanya. FHM winners BEFORE are truly deserving becoz they were really voted by the people and they are really really sexy. Now wala ng kuwenta FHM kasi bulalo na ang winner no sexiness at all. YUCK!!

Sam pinto will only be recognised by FMH as d sexiest I even doubt d whole philipine as a country r in suport of that cos over here in Africa Marian Rivera will forever remain our sexiest folled by Angel Locsin, Christine Reyes and d rest of them. Ofcos even a blind man can feel that Marian Rivera’s body is made from above b/c every1 fell in love wth her as d sexiest, followed by Locsin tho’ they said there’s tendency 4 Locsin to get fat soon. Hi inner peace,I miss you. You are right, in fact I didn’t vote for the same reason. I do not want to cater for FHM’s deciison to include Marian knowing at the end,someone will win,only to show off their flesh on the mag for profit and for some men to fantasize. Please no offend to those who voted,I know you all meant well and for Marian’s sake. you guys did your best to support her all the way and I know she is very thankful.I just knew even then what those behind the polling had in mind.They planned for this,the final result were a done deal long before everyone voted.Whatever happens, they will be the one to carry the burden. At the end of the day we will only answer to our Creator,because he is the only one that matters most ..and everything comes next.Whether she is the cover or not Marian will always be my number 1 ..forever.Thank you!
