Ever since Superstar Nora Aunor came back to the Philippines after living in the US for many years, the showbiz rivalry between her and Star For All Seasons Vilma Santos has been reborn. To give credit to these 2 grown women and Philippine showbiz icons, they’re amused and just taking it all in stride. Let their respective fans deal with it, HAHA! Anyhoo, Marian Rivera was asked if she’s either a Noranian or Vilmanian. Marian’s answer is very neutral.
Sa panayam ng PEP.ph (Philippine Enteretainment Portal) kay Marian Rivera, naitanong namin kung sino ang mas paborito niya—ang Superstar na si Nora Aunor, o ang Star For All Seasons na si Vilma Santos.
Sa madaling salita, siya ba ay Noranian o Vilmanian?
“Hindi ko alam, parang lahat naman yata sila, ginusto silang dalawa nung araw, di ba?
“Walang itulak-kabigin sa kanilang dalawa,” sabi ni Marian.
Napanood daw niya ang Darna at Dyesebel ni Vilma, since parehong ginampanan ni Marian sa GMA-7 ang dalawang nabanggit na nilikhang mga karakter ni Mars Ravelo.
“Ay, oo naman!” sambit niya.
Hiningan din namin ng reaksiyon si Marian na ang rights ng Darna at Dyesebel ay nasa ABS-CBN na.
Aniya, “Hindi… nakakapanghinayang lang kasi yung Dyesebel at yung Darna, isa sa pinakamagandang gawin yun, e, di ba?”
At least nagawa na niyang pareho, di ba?
“Ayun na lang, at least thankful ako na nagawa ko siya parehas,” pahayag ni Marian.(source)
Good answer Marian. No need to get involved with this archaic showbiz rivalry that doesn’t contribute anything to the industry. I’m pretty sure Marian admires and respects both of them equally. There’s definitely nothing wrong with that.

I really admire this lady. She’s not one of the many. That’s what make her apart from the many boring “sikat na artsta” today. I was kinda “annoyed” with the artista’s her age who’d say they’re Vilmanians or Noranians. I am 36 and I don’t care about their movies kasi nalulumaan na ako. Mas type ko noon movies ni Sharon/Maricel/Snooky kasi yun ang naabutan ko na. So superficial. Hmp! Thank goodness Marian because you’re graciously honest (not brutally honest). You’ll be interested yes maybe but actually watching their old films? Give me a break…
@ianfaye05, to each it’s own. I happen to love old movies. And older Pinoy movies have more substance compare to the movies that’s been churned out in the past 10 years. Speaking of old movies, I love watching black and white Hollywood movies too. Classic movies with amazing actors and actresses.

@nilay, Marian is not playing safe. She’s being respectful to Nora and Vilma who are icons in Pinoy Showbiz who contributed a lot in the industry. There’s nothing wrong with liking both. Marian also loves Maricel Soriano and other older artistas who have done a lot for the entertainment industry.

it only shows you dont have access to watch classic movies specially the golden era of the Phil Movies such as Kisapmata, Ina Ka Ng Anak Mo,Ganito Kami Noon Paano kayo Ngayon , Himala, and all beautiful movies na hindi na magagawa sa panahon ngayon …IF you are an artist you will have browse those old movies dahil until now yun pa rin ang pilit na ginagaya and the producers are remaking those movies and even in tv series , So why not open your eyes why these movies are really good in the eyes of the producers themselves..Wag kang magdunong dunungan sa pag po post ng message mo dahil sa huli hindi smart ang taong hindi marunong mag search why these kind of movies pa rin ang pilit na ginagawa ng mga producers para sa mga manononood..Ok gusto mo kamo sila Snooky , Maricel , hindi mo ba alam na mga old movies din ang mga remakes ng movies ng 2?

i really admire marian, she is tactful and at the same time very honest in her answer. talagang me sense ang mga sagot nya sa bawat interview, kahit anong topic. this means mabilis syang mag-isip at laging may sense. marian, you make me like and love you more, keep it up.
